70 years ago the SS Empire Windrush docked at Tilbury heralding a now famous migration that would bring 180,000 people from the Caribbean to the British Isles over 15 years. In recent months Windrush has unexpectedly become the name of a political scandal.

My grandmother had this rule. "If you fall down, stand right up."
